LANSING (WKZO) -- Increased funding to the state's Great Start Readiness Program means that thousands of low income and at risk children will be better prepared for kindergarten. 2014 is the second year of a two-year commitment to increase funding for the program. Education officials are now hoping that since, as they say, they've proven that the additional money has helped kids, the Governor will continue the same level of funding in future budgets.
