HOLLAND (WHTC) -- Michigan’s Department of Transportation is hosting an open house today to discuss the future of M-40 in Holland. MDOT will present three different options to improve safety near the Tulip City Truck stop and a few improvements north of I-196. Nick Schirripa from the Office of Communications for MDOT said that forums are a common practice, but the community is particularly interested in this project.
“This project is a result of the community coming to us and saying ‘we need something changed here,’” Schirripa said, “when we’re getting that kind of an input from a community, we need to have them involved in the process,” Schirripa said.
The open house is from 4-6 this evening at the Rock Island Family Restaurant on M-40. Residents are welcome to come to see the plans and give their feedback.
