Cross-Dressing Robber Sentenced to Six to Twenty Years Today

UNDATED (WHTC) -- Robbing a credit union dressed as a woman did not gain any sympathy from Ottawa County Circuit Judge Jon Hulsing today.  The sentence for pleading no contest to charges of armed robbery and fourth-degree and eluding an officer will put 52-year-old Todd Kooiker in prison for the next six to twenty years.  Kookier, of Georgetown Township, has no criminal record in Kent or Ottawa County.  He donned a blue dress and blonde wig on April 11th, went into the Community West Credit Union in Hudsonville, pointed a gun at a teller, hopped in a motorcycle and sped away, reaching speeds of more than 100 mph.  Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies captured Kookier when he crashed into a police cruiser near 92nd Ave.
