MIDLAND (WKZO) -- Michigan Republican John Moolenaar is the winner of a Congressional primary election. The state Senator from Midland defeated challengers Paul Mitchell and Peter Konetchy. Moolenaar's opponent in November will be Democrat Jeff Holmes. The winner takes over the Fourth District seat of the retiring Dave Camp, who's the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.
The Republican establishment continued to fend off tea party challengers with Congressman Justin Amash defeating Brian Ellis. Amash from Michigan's Third District will face Democrat Bob Goodrich in November.
