UNDATED (WHTC) - The Tigers made more news off of the field than on it yesterday, acquiring pitcher David Price in a three-team trade with Tampa Bay and Seattle that sent outfielder Austin Jackson to the Mariners, along with pitcher Drew Smyly and Whitecaps shortstop Willy Adames to the Rays. The deal overshadowed Detroit’s 7-4 loss to the visiting White Sox, as Adam Eaton had three hits, scored twice and drove in two runs for Chicago. Tonight, the Bengals host Colorado, with coverage from Comerica Park at 6:40 PM on 1450 WHTC, while the Pale Hose welcome Minnesota to US Cellular Field.

The Cubs softened up the Rockies for the Tigers by beating the visitors from Denver yesterday, 3-1. Jake Arrieta allowed three hits with seven strikeouts over seven innings to get the victory. Chicago opens up a weekend series in Los Angeles against the Dodgers this evening.

With Willy Adames now traded away, Javier Betancourt moved over from second base to shortstop for the Whitecaps, while Jose Zambrano took over at second. The members of West Michigan’s new keystone combination each had a two-run double in a 5-4 victory over visiting Lake County last night. The Caps are home to Fort Wayne at Fifth Third Ballpark this evening.
