HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - The Holland BPW Board yesterday endorsed a nearly two million-dollar contract with Environmental Resources Management to provide demolition services and manage preparation of the proposed site for a new natural gas-fueled power plant near Holland’s Eastern Gateway. If City Council approves the deal on May 14th, work on tearing down buildings in the vicinity of 5th Street and Fairbanks Avenue could begin shortly thereafter and run through the summer. A late 2016 target date for the plant’s operation has been set.
