UNDATED (WHTC) -- Travel through Downtown Holland is a little difficult to do today as bicycles are all over the Downtown. It’s the 2nd annual King’s Criterium, a popular event that only became part of Tulip Time last year. Also today, and new to Tulip Time in 2014, is the celebration of King Wilhelm-Alexander of the Netherlands birthday, which is also on April 27th. Both the start and finish lines are in front of the Knickerbocker Theater. There will be street closures in the Downtown Holland area. Tulip Time 2014 is May 3rd through the 10th.
The other kind of cyclist will be headed towards the Ottawa County Fairgrounds for the 13th annual Lakeshore Blessing of the Bikes. Gates are open at 10 A.M. with the Blessing taking place at 3 P.M. Proceeds from the event will benefit Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity and Barnabas Ministries.
