HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - One of the last loose ends before Holland’s annual signature event can take place has been tied up.
Tulip Time officials have announced ceremonial Grand Marshals for the festival’s three scheduled parades that step out along 8th Street through the downtown district in two weeks. For the May 7 Volksparade, long-time city staffer Jodi Syens, who stepped down from her municipal duties last June after 37 years, will lead Governor Snyder and other dignitaries in the “street scrubbing.” The following afternoon, retired Zeeland superintendent Gary Feenstra and soon-to-be-retired Holland Christian school chief Glenn Vos heads the Kinderparade. Finally, former Detroit Lions placekicker Jason Hanson, who spoke at a ministry event in Holland last November, returns to the Tulip City to oversee the Muziekparade on May 10.
The 80th Tulip Time Festival kicks off its 10-day run on May 3.
