HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - There may be twice the amount of hotel rooms available in downtown Holland for Tulip Time visitors at this time next year.
Holland Planning Commission members last night approved a proposed site plan for a 140-room, five-story Courtyard Hotel by Marriott on nearly two acres of vacant land off of 8th Street between Columbia and Central avenues. There will also be a 100-seat breakfast Bistro and a 206-seat dining restaurant on the site, and developers asked for 89 parking spaces in the lower level of the 7th Street city parking deck for hotel guests. Modifications to the adjacent Macatawa Bank property and the splash pad were also part of the overall plans. Developers are looking to break ground after the Tulip Time Festival next month.
