DETROIT (WKZO) -- The Obama administration and state officials are reportedly in discussions regarding a deal that would free up money to soften the blow to Detroit pensioners.

The "Detroit Free Press" is reporting that two sources close to the situation confirm there have been talks of the federal government giving the state 100-million dollars for blight remediation. That would free up money emergency manager Kevyn Orr planned to spend on blight removal over the next decade.

The money saved would reportedly be used to reduce pension cuts.
