ZEELAND, MI (WHTC) -- The Zeeland City Council recently approved a series of community service grants for a number of non-profit agencies in the Holland-Zeeland area. Some new donations this year include $5000 each to Neighborhood Connections at Good Samaritan Ministries and the Zeeland Historical Society. Zeeland's Pumpkin Festival received the largest amount of grant money at $6000. Also in Zeeland, money is being raised for the Downtown Zeeland Splash Pad Park and Mayor Kevin Klynstra says they've already raised about 80% of the estimated $435-thousand needed for the project. They hope to raise the rest of the money by May 1st and open the Park in August of this year.
