HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) - No reopening date was determined as this weekend began for the Wild Chef Japanese Steakhouse Grill and Bar. The owners of the restaurant off of West Shore Drive on Holland’s North Side voluntarily closed their doors and gave the facility a thorough cleaning after reports of over 100 persons with symptoms of gastrointestinal illness at emergency rooms in Ottawa County on Monday. Health Department officials believe that the Wild Chef was linked to the outbreak, but at week’s end, inspectors hadn’t pinpointed an exact cause, as test results were still pending. About 70 percent of around 400 people who responded to an online survey said that they had eaten at the restaurant between March 27th and April 1st and became ill.
