HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) - The source of over a hundred cases of gastrointestinal illness reported on Monday at emergency rooms in Ottawa County is apparently a restaurant on Holland’s North Side.
The Wild Chef Japanese Steakhouse Grill and Bar on Westshore Drive has been closed since Tuesday, when county health department officials told the owners of the eatery about the rash of diners getting sick. Test results to pinpoint the exact source of the illness are pending. The restaurant has undergone a thorough cleaning, but there is no announced timetable as to when it may reopen.
County Health Department officials say that they don't believe that any other restaurants in the area had any similar incidents to that of the Wild Chef, and ask that anyone who may have dined there between March 27th and April 1st to fill out an online questionaire at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/wildchef.
