HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - In a match that took the full three hours before it was called by time, the sophomores captured the annual Hope College Pull tug-of-war from the freshmen on Saturday afternoon. Judges rendered the decision to the 18-member representatives of the class of 2016 by a nine-foot advantage. The event aims to build cameraderie not only within each class, but to develop ties with upperclassmen, as the seniors (class of 2014) were coaching the sophomores, and the juniors, who captured the tug last year, guiding the newcomers. The Pull was held at its usual spot on the banks of the Macatawa River, west of US-31 and north of the college campus on Holland's North Side.
