In a petition submitted to the US bankruptcy court in Delaware, Gatehouse had assets of nearly 434 million dollars, but debts of 1.3 billion. Officials of Gentex announced on Friday finalization of their 700 million-dollar purchase of Homelink from Johnson Controls The acquisition would give the Zeeland-based specialty parts maker entrance into the remote control market. Homelink begun as a subsidiary of the Prince Corporation and was absorbed by JCI in a 1996 purchase. Gentex has been integrating Homelink into its products for more than a decade.
