UNDATED (WHTC) -- A 19-year-old woman from Fennville will be charged with a moving violation causing death of 74-year-old Dale Woodwyk of Holland. Police say Reyna Mendoza ran a red light at State Street and Business 196 in Zeeland on July 13th, slamming her SUV into Woodwyk’s restored 1976 Pontiac. He was apparently heading to the Zummerfest classic car show. Woodwyk had to be pried out of the wreckage and died later at Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital. His 16-year-old grandson and the other driver suffered only minor scrapes and bruises. Mendoza will be arraigned on the misdemeanor charge Oct. 8 in Holland District Court, police and court officials said. The misdemeanor charge for Mendoza is punishable by up to a year in jail.
