UNDATED (WHTC) -- A bipartisan agreement has been reached between the House and Senate on legislation to help insure the safety of compounded drugs and our country’s pharmaceutical supply chain. The legislation, the “Drug Quality and Security Act,” follows an extensive investigation the House Energy and Commerce Committee, led by Fred Upton. Last year’s deadly fungal meningitis outbreak left 64 dead nationwide, with 19 deaths happening in Michigan. There is currently no system for tracking drugs from the manufacturer to the pharmacy.
