HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) --
While Congress tries to work out the Farm Bill and the cuts to programs like SNAP, hunger is still a very real issue for many people residing right here in the United States. The 90 minute documentary film, “A Place at the Table,” exposes the ravages of hunger in the United States, one of the wealthiest nations in the world. Ottawa County Public Communications Coordinator Kristin Weighmink says several local charitable organizations are supporting the showing, including the Holland area Hunger Coalition, the Ottawa County Food Council, Bread for the World and Feeding Amanda. The movie will be shown at 7:30 P.M. at the Knickerbocker Theater this Wednesday and Thursday, September 25th and 26th. Admission is $6 for the general public, $5 for seniors and free for Hope College students.
