High School Football Friday Along Lakeshore Ahead; Tigers Magic Number Now 4


UNDATED (WHTC) -The fourth Friday of high school football action along the Lakeshore finds most area teams on the road, and we'll have two of the three home contests on our stations. Zeeland East begins OK Black play by hosting Forest Hills Central. Hear the game on 1450 WHTC and http://whtc.com/listen-live at 6:40 PM. After three road games to start the season, Saugatuck finally plays at Jarvis Memorial Field, entertaining Hartford. Catch all of the action on 92.7 The Van and http://927thevan.com/listen-live, beginning at 6:40 PM. The other local contest is in Fennville, where the Blackhawks welcome Marcellus. Playing away from home are Holland, who travels to Northview; Holland Christian, who visits Forest Hills Eastern; West Ottawa, who invades Kenowa Hills; Zeeland West, who makes a trip to Cedar Springs; and Hamilton, who goes to Forest Hills Northern.


Victor Martinez' RBI double capped a two-run seventh inning for the Tigers, who rallied to beat visiting Seattle yesterday, 5-4. With a magic number to clinch the AL Central title now at four, Detroit opens a three-game series against the White Sox this evening. Coverage on 1450 WHTC follows high school football.

Jake Arrieta scattered three hits with five strikeouts over seven innings, as the Cubs won in Milwaukee yesterday, 5-1. Chicago welcomes Atlanta to Wrigley Field to begin a three-game series this afternoon.
