HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - A 19-year-old man from Holland’s North Side was sentenced yesterday to six months in jail, up to a year in work-release, and fined over a thousand dollars. Steven Boeve had pleaded guilty to an attempted assault charge in connection to vehicle vandalism and a subsequent police chase down 16th Street in Holland on July 13th. The vehicle’s owner, the Reverend Wayne Coleman, claimed that this was a hate crime because Boeve and Gregory Lambers, who goes on trial next month, had uttered racial slurs during the incident.
