HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -- When you’re traveling on Washington Avenue in Holland and you’re running late for work or school because of the work going on between 34th and 35th Streets, a happy thought is, you’re not paying for it. Crews are working to repair the damaged road after Charles Christiaans made a mess out of it by driving through about 150 feet of wet concrete. On August 15th Holland Police say Christiaans drove his Jeep around the barricades, through a business parking lot and over a six-inch curb to get to the roadway. Construction workers followed the vehicle and contacted police when it stopped. Christiaans was arraigned Tuesday morning and repair costs are being worked out between the contractor and his insurance agency.
