UNDATED (WHTC) -- A local American Red Cross employee will be heading to Colorado today to lend a hand with relief efforts. The regional Chief Operating Officer, Mike Mitchell, will be working as a Response Networking Manager. He’ll manage the technology being used within the disaster relief operation. Mitchell says, “Events like these are what we practice for. We’re always preparing during non-disaster times, and when something happens, we’re ready to respond.” Mitchell expects to be in Colorado for two weeks. So far, there are four confirmed deaths due to the flooding. To find out how to give, get trained or get involved, visit redcross.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.
