High School Football Along Lakeshore Tonight; Tigers' Magic Number Stays at 11


UNDATED (WHTC) - High school football resumes along the Lakeshore tonight. Hear the East Grand Rapids at West Ottawa game on 1450 WHTC and http://whtc.com/listen-live, beginning at 6:40 PM. The Saugatuck at Decatur contests is on 92.7 The Van and http://927thevan.com/listen-live, also at 6:40 PM. Other match ups include Unity Christian at Holland, Zeeland West at Holland Christian, Hudsonville at Zeeland East, Hamilton at Byron Center, and Fennville at Hartford.


The Tigers begin their final home stand of the regular season this evening with the opener of a three-game series versus Kansas City at Comerica Park. Coverage from Detroit on 1450 WHTC follows high school football.

Jeff Locke tossed seven innings of three-hit baseball, striking out five in the process, as Pittsburgh beat the Cubs last night, 3-1. The series at PNC Park continues this evening.

Ryan Raburn homered and drove in five runs, powering visiting Cleveland past the White Sox last night, 14-3, keeping the Tigers' magic number to clinch the AL Central at 11. The series at US Cellular Field in Chicago continues this afternoon.


NFL action on 1450 WHTC last night had New England defeating the visiting New York Jets, 13-10. On Sunday, after Tigers-Kansas City baseball at 12:40 PM on Holland’s Hometown Station, the Lions are at Arizona, followed by San Francisco at Seattle.
