HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - A successful legal program for Ottawa County residents is now available in Holland. Officials announced that a Legal Self-Help Center will be operating out of the courthouse on 8th Avenue every Wednesday from 9 AM to 4:30 PM. Volunteers will be working one-on-one with patrons who wish to represent themselves, giving advice on forms, processes and procedures.
More than 11 thousand have been helped since the program began at the Grand Haven Courthouse three years ago; those services are available there Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and a similar program is at the Probate Court in the Fillmore Street Complex on Mondays from 9 AM to 4:30 PM. Funded, in part, by a grant from the Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area, the Legal Self-Help Center cannot provide any legal advice or represent anyone in court.
