JENISON, MI (WHTC) - Consumers Energy officials say that a broken power line insulator was the cause of a widespread blackout in eastern Ottawa County yesterday morning. Heavy storms that swept through the area apparently snapped the 46-hundred-volt line that plunged over 53 hundred customers into the dark for over three hours. The storms dumped several inches of rain, causing neighborhood flooding in nearby Grandville.
