DETROIT (WKZO) -- The mold for the long-awaited statue of RoboCop is expected to arrive in Detroit Friday. The parts are slated to be delivered to Venus Bronze Works in Detroit.
Once the parts are received, they’ll be assembled and ready for bronze-casting in roughly two weeks. The high-tech crime-fighting cyborg was featured in the 1987 movie “RoboCop,” which was set in Detroit.
The ten-foot-tall statue is expected to be unveiled next summer and where it will be placed is still under discussion.
