DETROIT (WKZO) -- Detroit Mayor Dave Bing responded Tuesday to recent criticism leveled against the city from Boston Mayor Thomas Menino. Bing said that Menino used an unfortunate choice of words when he said he would "blow up" the Motor City in a recent "New York Times" interview.
In a statement, Bing said he would think the mayor of a city that recently experienced a deadly bombing would be more sensitive and avoid using the phrase "blow up." In the interview, the Boston mayor said "I’d blow up the place and start all over."
Bing says that Menino doesn’t have his facts straight regarding Detroit and invited him to visit.
