The Detroit Tigers got that pop from an unlikely source.Omar Infante homered twice and drove in five as the Tigers doubled up the Indians 10-5 at Comerica Park. Austin Jackson went 2-for-3 and plated two as Detroit won its third straight. Anibal Sanchez gave up three runs over six-and-two-thirds innings and improved to 12-and-7. Starlin Castro's go-ahead home run in the bottom of the sixth inning lifted the Chicago Cubs to a 4-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies in the middle test of a three-game set. Chicago's Jake Arrieta is scheduled to face Philadelphia's Kyle Kendrick in this afternoon's series finale.

Devin Gardner threw for 162 yards and one touchdown, while rushing for a pair of scores, as No. 17 Michigan demolished Central Michigan, 59-9, at Michigan Stadium. Michigan, which registered its 15th consecutive home victory, has won all four lifetime matchups with CMU.
Back-to-back touchdowns scored by Bronson Hill sparked a 21-point scoring run for Eastern Michigan to secure a 34-24 victory against Howard in the season opener for both teams Saturday night. The Eagles are trying to come back from a 2-10 season.
