UNDATED (WHTC) -- Without Miguel  Cabrera, someone else had to step up and provide the power. The Detroit Tigers got that pop from an unlikely source.Omar Infante homered twice and drove in five as the Tigers doubled up the Indians 10-5 at Comerica Park.  Austin Jackson went 2-for-3 and plated two as Detroit won its third straight.  Anibal Sanchez gave up three runs over six-and-two-thirds innings and improved to 12-and-7.  The Tigers will try to sweep the Indians and take a commanding lead in the AL Central this afternoon.  Game coverage on 1450 WHTC gets underway at 12:40 P.M.

Starlin Castro's  go-ahead home  run in  the bottom  of  the sixth  inning lifted  the Chicago Cubs  to a  4-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies in the middle test of a three-game set.  Chicago's  Jake Arrieta  is scheduled  to face Philadelphia's Kyle Kendrick in this afternoon's series finale.

The White Sox had won 10 of 12 before arriving at Fenway Park. John Danks (4-11) was lit up for 11 hits and six runs -- five earned -- over five innings in yesterday's loss to the Red Sox, 7-2.  The White Sox take on the Red Sox this afternoon at Fenway.

Devin Gardner threw  for 162 yards and one touchdown, while rushing for a pair of scores, as No. 17 Michigan demolished Central Michigan, 59-9, at Michigan Stadium.  Michigan, which registered its 15th consecutive home victory, has won all four lifetime  matchups with CMU.

Back-to-back touchdowns scored by Bronson Hill sparked a 21-point scoring run for Eastern Michigan to secure a 34-24 victory against Howard in the season opener for both teams Saturday night.  The Eagles are trying to come back from a 2-10 season.
