UNDATED (WHTC) -- The Red Cross of West Michigan wants trick-or-treaters to be safe on Halloween. Kelly Hudson of the Red Cross has some safety suggestions. Children should be accompanied by an adult, plan a route where less streets will have to be crossed and take a flashlight. Other precautions to think about: light colored costumes are best so that drivers can see children more easily, masks that don’t block the vision, only go to houses that have the porch light on and parents should check all candy to make sure it’s ok and of course, to get their favorite treat.
