LANSING (WKZO) -- Michigan Department of Natural Resources officials are expressing concern with confirmation by the federal government that invasive Asian grass carp are naturally reproducing in the Lake Erie basin. The fish don't pose the same threat to the fishing industry as the bighead and silver Asian carp, but can still alter the habitat. The carp have been found in the state since the 1970s, while the bighead and silver carp haven't yet reached Great Lakes waters.
