UNDATED (WHTC) -- The gasoline roller coaster is heading uphill again. Prices around the Lakeshore rose by almost 30 cents per gallon from Tuesday morning to Tuesday afternoon. Gasbuddy.com’s Patrick De Haan reports that there was a refinery fire outside of Chicago last Wednesday putting several units offline. DeHaan also notes that wholesale gas prices spiked initially in response to the fire. In Holland on Tuesday morning, gas prices for regular were as low as $3.15. As of Tuesday evening, gasbuddy.com showed many stations around the Lakeshore at $3.45 for a gallon of regular gasoline.
