HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -- The DeZwaan Windmill looks like a windmill again. Elzinga & Volkers and the crane company, Erickson, Inc., performed the delicate operation of putting the top back on the windmill. The windmill has been inoperable for more than 18 months. The damage was discovered in April 2012 by Dutch millwrights who were in Holland to rebuild the observation deck. City Manager Ryan Cotton says that though the Windmill is put back together, there is still more to be done. So far, fundrasing and grants have raised about 1.5 million dollars. Cotton says they need to raise about 700-thousand dollars more so pathways can be created from the North and the South ends of the Park. You can find out more about the project at cityofholland.com.
