HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -- The groundbreaking ceremony for the Jack Miller Center for the Musical Arts building at Hope College drew a crowd of more than 200 people this afternoon. According to President Emeritus Dr. James Bultman, the Music Arts building has been a long time coming. He recounted a story involving Emeritus Professor of Music Bob Reitsma during an interview in 1967. Reitsma was told, at that time, that a new concert hall was "on the horizon." More than 50 years later, that dream is finally coming true. Funding for the building came as part of the school’s 175-million dollar “A Greater Hope” capital improvement program.
