UNDATED (WHTC) -- Michigan lawmakers approved bills today that would prevent people from using their electronic benefits card to get cash from ATMs in liquor stores, horse tracks or adult entertainment businesses. The six bill package places provisions on a liquor store’s liquor license to prohibit the use of a Bridge Card at the point of sale. The store’s license could be revoked if the store does not comply with the policy. The federal government passed a law last year that says states must comply with new guidelines in order to receive Temporary Assistance for Needy family grants. If the change is not made, a penalty equal up to five percent of the block grants will be deducted beginning in 2014.
