HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -- The Holland City Council meeting was short two members on Wednesday night and so no motions were approved. There was still quite a bit to talk about, especially the rezoning request made by Covenant Development LLC to rezone the old Holland Country Club property from single family to a Planned Residential Development District. Mayor Dykstra asked to be recused, due to the fact that his law firm represents Macatawa Bank, who owns the country club property. Developer Peter Engles, along with an engineer, gave a presentation on the proposed project. Many residents of the Holland Heights area were on hand to give their opinion on the rezoning and most of them, but not all, were against it. In the end, no action was taken. The matter was tabled until the next regular meeting on November 6th.
