HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -- The 3rd annual Drive to Survive day takes place this Friday, October 18th. The statewide teen safe driving conference is being held in Holland at the Double Tree Hotel on 24th Street in Holland. Students from as far away as Ionia will be taking part. Holland Public Safety Officer Doug VanderKooy says that 375 teens will be taking part. A cone course will be set up for the teens to drive with a qualified driving instructor and while they’re driving, they’ll be allowed to text so they can know that texting can be a big distraction. AMR Ambulance service will be there to talk to the teens about trauma. Several speakers are scheduled to speak on the subjects of distracted driving and teen driver safety. National Teen driver Safety Week is October 18th through the 26th.
