KENTWOOD, MI (WHTC) -- A 21-year-old Wyoming will be spending at least nine years in prison. Tyson James Grant entered into a plea agreement on Monday. Grant was originally charged with armed robbery and attempted murder in the stabbing and robbery of his roommate, 61-year-old Thomas Lindhout, back in March. The plea agreement changed the attempted murder charge to assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder. Part of the plea agreement is that he will spend at least nine years in prison but could end up with the maximum sentence of life in prison. Grant’s sentencing date is November 5th.
