WALKER, MI (WHTC) - The Walker Police Department will stage a memorial ceremony at 1:30 PM on Saturday afternoon for Trevor Slot, the 41-year-old officer killed in the line of duty two years ago during a three-county, high-speed chase involving two bank robbers. He was struck by the vehicle of the suspects while attempting to lay down stop sticks on the exit ramp from westbound I-96 to 8th Avenue in Marne; the two men were eventually killed in the chase. Walker police officials plan to hold such a service at the Memorial City Central Park on Remembrance Road annually on the second Saturday in October in Slot’s honor.
