WASHINGTON, D.C. (WHTC) -- Both sides of the argument met with the President today but there's no movement toward ending the partial government shutdown or the looming debt crisis. In a White House meeting with President Obama, House Republicans proposed a six week increase in the federal debt ceiling. A White House statement described the session as a good meeting which ran about 90 minutes.

What’s happening in the government is most probably affecting the Stock Market, according to Steve Kiss of Hilliard Lyons.  The stock market slipped below 15-thousand for the first time in the past couple of months on Tuesday.  He thinks the market started to go up as soon as talk began about negotiations.

The Dow Jones closed up 323 points on Thursday at 15-thousand, 125.
