UNDATED (WHTC) -- A new safety program is in effect for West Michigan through the end of next week. The Ticketing Aggressive Cars and Trucks program is trying to reduce crashes, fatalities and serious injuries involving passenger vehicles and 18-wheelers. Officers from six West Michigan law enforcement agencies are conducting TACT program enforcement on US-131 and I-196 in Ottawa and Kent counties. Officers will be on the lookout for violations by both passenger vehicle and truck drivers such as improper lane usage, careless and reckless driving, speeding, following too close and failure to yield the right of way. The project is part of the Michigan Strategic Highway Safety Plan.
