GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, MI (WHTC) -- An accident involving someone riding a bicycle early Saturday morning sent an Allendale man to the hospital. Sgt. Christie Wendt of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says that 23-year-old Albert Sowers was riding a bicycle in the middle of the road just after midnight on Saturday. The bicycle had no lights on it. A vehicle driven by 21-year-old Mason Blackmere, also of Allendale, was driving northbound on Laker Lane toward Pierce St., running into Sowers, who was riding in the middle of the road. Sowers was taken to Spectrum Hospital with injuries to his shoulder. The accident is still under investigation.
