HASTINGS, MI (WHTC) -- A former Major League Baseball player stood before a judge in Barry County today and told the judge that three teen age girls from Lakewood High School were lying during his trial on criminal sexual conduct charges. Chad Curtis was sentenced to seven to 15 years in prison. Mlive reports that Curtis spoke for nearly an hour trying to convince the judge that he was a Christian servant. During the statement, he told the judge that every one of the young women lied when they testified against them. Judge Amy McDowell referred to Curtis as a “predator” and that he was a “threat to any community he got into.” Curtis played for six major league teams, including the Tigers and the Yankees.
