AUBURN HILLS (WKZO) -- Chrysler brands posted a slight U.S. sales increase in September compared with same month a year ago. The one-percent rise marks the automaker's 42nd consecutive month of year-over-year gains.
Dodge Durango showed the greatest percentage of increase of all Chrysler Group vehicles with a 66-percent jump. Jeep Grand Cherokee sales were up by 19-percent making this its best September in ten years. Fiat sales were down 24-percent, and Jeep brand vehicle sales dropped five-percent compared with September 2012.
"Even though industry sales dipped during September," says Chrysler's head of U.S. Sales Reid Bigland, "Chrysler Group still managed to eke out a slight sales increase for the month."
