UNDATED (WHTC) -- As the holiday bustle begins, there are still tragedies going on around the world.  Typhoon Haiyan caused a lot of destruction in the Philippines in early November and many people were left with nothing and homeless.  The American Red Cross of West Michigan is thanking members of the Filipino communities in Ottawa and Kalamazoo Counties for raising more than 25-thousand dollars in support of the Red Cross relief efforts in the Philippines.  A fundraiser on November 23rd in Ottawa County brought in more than ten-thousnad dollars. The donations were presented to the Red Cross earlier this week.  If you’d like to help the Red Cross help others, you can call 800-RED-CROSS or go online to redcross.org.  You can specify who you would like your donation to help.
