KENT COUNTY, MI (WHTC) -- A Kent County Commissioner is in jail after being arrested outside of a county meeting earlier today. It’s expected that Gary Rolls will be charged with multiple counts of criminal sexual misconduct involving a woman from the Muskegon area. Mlive reports that the case has been assigned to Ionia County Prosecutor Ron Schaefer, due to a potential conflict of interest with Kent County prosecutors. Sexual misconduct allegations were made in 2012 by a 28-year-old woman who came forward to claim that Rolls had been sexually assaulting her since the age of nine. Rolls attorney says the allegations are untrue.
