HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -- Amendments were approved to the Chapter 19 Nuisance Ordinance governing the inappropriate storage of items in the exterior premises of residential properties. Cindy Osman, Community and Neighborhood Services Assistant, says the amendment to the ordinance is the issuance of a civil infraction ticket. The first time fine is $25, with an increase to $50 for the second time and $100 fora third time in a twelve month period. If that doesn't work, you could be given a court date and the magistrate can fine you up to $595. Project Pride coupons are available at no charge to have large items disposed of but you have to take the items to Chef Container yourself. Osman says if you need help to get rid of an item, Community and Neighborhood Services can help with that.
