HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Near ideal weather conditions yesterday and today could accelerate clean up and power restoration efforts in the wake of Sunday’s storms that roared across the Lakeshore and throughout the Upper Midwest. As of dawn, 2,349 Consumers Energy customers in Allegan County were still without power, while "most" of the affected Ottawa County customers of the Jackson-based utility had service restored by dusk yesterday, according to spokesman Roger Morgenstern. About 296 thousand Consumers customers statewide had experienced outages; final restoration may still not come until Saturday.
