LANSING, MI (WKZO) - Microbreweries have become big business in the state, and lawmakers are adjusting caps on how much beer can be brewed to make it an even larger industry. Legislation has passed the state House and is now before the Senate to increase the barrel threshold for micro-brewers from 30,000 to 60,000 a year and allows them to expand from one to two tasting rooms. Nearly a dozen craft beer companies are planning expansions as soon as the bills are signed by Governor Rick Snyder.
