Hope Women Win Big at Separate Illinois Venues in Basketball, Volleyball


UNDATED (WHTC) – Hope College advanced to the NCAA Division III Volleyball Quarterfinals by winning at Elmhurst on Saturday night in four sets (24-26, 25-20, 25-14, 25-15). The Flying Dutch (32-2) now play at home in DeVos Fieldhouse next Thursday against Wisconsin-Stevens Point (33-4), who won in four sets at St. Thomas of Minnesota, with a time to be determined. Calvin (32-1) also advanced by beating visiting Wittenberg in five sets on Saturday night, and will face the winner of Sunday's U-Mass-Boston at Williams match, also on Thursday.

Rebekah Llorens scored 23 points as Hope won at North Central in women’s basketball on Saturday night, 126-56. The Flying Dutch (2-0) is at Calvin on Tuesday evening, with coverage on 92.7 The Van and http://927thevan.com/listen-live is at 7:10 PM.

Hope's run in the NCAA Division III men's soccer tournament ended on Saturday night with a 2-1 overtime loss at Wartburg of Iowa. The Flying Dutchmen end the season 16-3-2.
