ALLENDALE, MI (WHTC) - A 17-year-old Allendale man had a rough night last night, but he may have rougher days ahead of him.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Wildfong, the unnamed person’s problems began around 2:55 this morning when he nearly struck a deputy’s cruiser as he ran his car through a stop sign on 84th Avenue at Fillmore Street. In an attempt to avoid being pulled over by the deputy, the suspect sped off, but then lost control of his vehicle and crashed it into a ditch. The man jumped out and tried to run away on foot, but was stunned by a Taser shot from the pursuing deputy and subsequently apprehended.
The suspect was taken to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital for treatment, and his name won’t be disclosed until arraignment on various criminal charges in Hudsonville District Court.
